Alicia Gaytan
Alicia graduated from UC Santa Cruz in Spring 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She knew throughout college that she wanted to work somewhere where she could give back to the community.
After graduating, Alicia went on to serve a year in an AmeriCorps program, City Year, in East San Jose where she worked with youth at a local K-8 school. There, she provided support to students as a part of the solution to educational equity, specifically working toward changing the narrative for student outcomes and mentoring students to meet their full potential. Alicia joined the Monarch Crisis Intervention team working with adults in August 2018. Her favorite part about her job is connecting with survivors and seeing them be empowered throughout their journey.
